A spray tan session can be an intimidating experience if you don’t know what to expect or how to prepare beforehand. At Veranda Sun, we make sure that everyone knows exactly what they’re getting into and the steps they need to take in order to ensure their spray tan is long-lasting and even. Keep reading to find out everything you need to know about your first spray tan session with Veranda Sun.

What To Do Before

Use an exfoliator glove to remove dead skin cells before your spray tan.

To get the best out of your spray tan, it’s important to prepare for your session. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Let the staff know if you have sensitive skin or allergies.
  • Be sure to shower and exfoliate before your spray tan so that the solution sticks to your skin.
  • Wear dark clothing because tanning solutions can leave stains on clothing.
  • You’ll want to shave any areas where the solution is applied like legs, armpits, bikini area, etc.
  • Finally, be prepared with hair ties or an elastic band if needed!

What To Do During

Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early so you can relax, chat with the staff and ask any questions, and get a feel for the experience. Be prepared to remove your clothing and put on disposable underwear in order to avoid any mishaps. Expect to be sprayed from head to toe with tanning solution. It’s not like the self-tanner you apply by hand that only targets specific areas of your body (even though Veranda Sun has a selection of self-tanners too). The whole point is that it’s quick, easy and even application. There’s no need to worry about streaks or uneven patches since this method takes care of all that with just one quick spray.

How Long it Lasts

A spray tan will typically last 7-10 days, but it can last up to two weeks. This time frame will depend on the individual’s skin type, their skin care routine, and how they take care of themselves after they receive their spray tan.

Aftercare – Ways to Maintain and Maximize the Results

A proper after care routine will help your spray tan last longer. Steps like applying lotion after the tan, avoiding direct contact with chlorine and other harsh chemicals, and staying out of the sun will help your spray tan last. Dry skin can lead to an uneven tan. Exfoliating prior to getting a spray tan will also help you maintain your even color!
