We know that sun exposure and tanning are a great way to boost your Vitamin D, but a recent study shows a preventative association between sun exposure and allergic diseases eczema and rhinitis.

Researchers used cohort data from 1,433 infants originally examined in 1988-89 to compare allergic disease (asthma, eczema, and rhinitis) and allergen sensitization to Vitamin D levels and reported sun exposure, according to the Vitamin D Council. They found that “higher sun exposure during summer holidays and weekends in adolescence was associated with significantly reduced risk of eczema and rye grass positive rhinitis,” and winter sun exposure also was protective against eczema.
