Most Common Questions Related to Spray Tanning
If you are new to the spray tanning process, it is only natural you come up with questions, so we are here to give you the answers you are looking for.
What is Spray Tanning?
Spray tanning, also called sunless tanning, is a process in which your skins gets sprayed with a DHA-based tanning solution that will gradually develop darker skin color. A spray tan may last anywhere from 7 to 10 days. DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is an FDA approved ingredient that reacts with the natural amino acids in the top layer of your skin, giving it a natural-looking tan.
How Do I Prepare for a Spray Tanning Session?
Before your spray tanning session, you should prepare your skin so it can properly soak up the tanning solution and produce the results you are looking for. Using moisturizers, makeup, or deodorant before your session could interrupt the action of the tanning solution.
Can I Extend the Life of My Spray Tan?
After getting a spray tan, there are some special considerations you should take into account to help your tan last longer, like not showering immediately after, staying away from body scrubs and more.
What is the Difference Between the Mystic Tan and the Custom Airbrush Tan?
There are a few differences:
- The Mystic tan solution is a clear solution that gradually darkens your skin, while our Hand Held Custom Spray Tan solution shows color instantly. However, a bronzer or accelerator can be added for a minimal extra cost.
- Our custom airbrush tanning solution is pH balanced, infused with aloe vera to moisturize your skin and —the best part— it contains anti-aging ingredients.
- The hand-held custom airbrush tan involves one of our technicians customizing your sunless tan with a hand-sprayed glow, whereas the Mystic Tan is a machine booth that does a 360-degree spray and has one intensity.
