Spray tan is an excellent option to get that superb sun-kissed glow without having to sit under the scorching heat for hours and risking sunburn. But once you have gotten spray tanning done, it can last for up to 10 days if you maintain it a wall and follow all the care instructions. So, what happens if you feel that you don’t want the tanned look any longer and need to remove it?

Is Sun Tan Removal Possible?

The answer to this question is “yes,” it’s possible to remove spray tan, but the process isn’t as easy as you would like it to be. While there are several different ways to do it, you need to be careful while trying any of them, as all may not be suitable for your skin.

Ways to Remove Sun Tan

  • Storing Your Sunless Tanning Products the Right Way

Getting a perfect natural looking and healthy tan is possible.

Bathe– If you read Spray tanning FAQ’s you will find there are certain precautions to take while showering to ensure that the sun tan doesn’t fade soon. These steps involve applying a non-mineral body oil before your shower and then using good body lotion after stepping out of the shower.

But if you want to remove the sun tan, you can skip the non-mineral body oil application and bathe as usual. Use an exfoliating scrub and also a loofah/exfoliant glove to scrub the tan off your skin.

  • Lemon Paste/Baking Soda– Mix baking soda and lemon juice into a smooth paste. Apply this paste to your skin using a sponge/loofah/your hand. Allow the baking soda to do its magic and then rinse the paste off along with the dead skin, which would have the tan. Take a regular shower after this process for quicker sun tan removal.
  • Baby Oil- Rub some baby oil into the skin and allow it to stay there for 10 minutes and then rinse it off.
  • Take a Swim– You can go for a swim in a swimming pool, and the chlorine will help to remove the spray tan.
  • Removal of Spray Tan from Your Nails and Palms- Wipe off all the excess spray tan that may be stuck on your palms and around your nails, using an old, soft toothbrush and any standard whitening toothpaste.

If you aren’t too sure about using any of these spray tan removal processes, you can contact your spray tan salon, and they will help you get the tan off safely and quickly.
